Hi, I want to let you know that I did weight my self last Monday 8/22/11, I just didn’t have time to make the posting. I weighted 266.4 pounds and I almost passed out, but there was nothing I could do right then, all I could do is start losing the weight.
Today 8/29/11, I weighted my self again and I lost 9 pounds, 9 pounds in one week. Awesome!!!
My weight was 257.4 pounds.

Hola, quiero decirle que si me pese el Lunes 22/8/11 pasado, pero no tuve tiempo de poner el mensaje. Pese 266.4 libras, casi me da algo, pero bueno en ese momento pense “ya ni llorar es bueno” ahora solo ponerme las pilas a bajar.
Hoy 29/8/11, me pese otra vez y baje 9 libras, 9 libras en una semana, que emocion!!!
Mi peso fue 257.4 libras.

Hello! These two project I also made last year for Halloween, I made thirty of the test tube ones for my daughter's classmates. The little box in a bag I only made ten and those I gave to some of my co-workers.
The test tube one is another example of using one idea for more than one holiday. I also made the test Tubes for Valentines Day; you can see that project in one of my post for the month of January 2011.

Hola! Estos dos projectos tambien los hice el ano pasado para Halloween, el de los tubitos hice treinta para los companeritos de las escuela de mi hija y del de la bolsita hice diez para unos companeros mis del trabajo.
El de los tubitos es otro ejemplo de como se puede usar una misma idea para mas de una cosa, yo los tubitos los hice tambien para el dia de San Valentin de este ano; si lo quiere ver esta en el archivo de Enero (January) del 2011.

My Weight Loss Diary/ Diario de Mi Perdida de Peso

.....well, almost. Tomorrow morning I will weight myself and tomorrow night I will post my weight here. My plan is to weight in once a week.

For those that want to know what started all this here it is......Thursday I went to the doctor for my yearly exam and I had a discussion with him about my weight, I explained to him how I have tried every diet under the sun and how sick I'm of being fat (that right I said it, fat), for my own sake I'm not going to sugar code ("coat", not code, who sugar codes things?!, just me LOL!) anything, I've never bee one to do that anyway, so I'm not about to start now.

My doctor gave me a prescription for an apatite suppressant, which I have never taken, like I said before I have do EVERYTHING you can think of to lose weight, you name it, I've done it, however I have not taken prescriptions or any kind of drugs before and I'm a bit nervous about that, just because of the side effect, he also told me to cut my daily calorie intake about 300 calories along with cutting MOST if not ALL sugars and cards, I meant carbs not cards (that truly would have been impossibly for me, NO cards, LOL!!), oh! and NO fast foods at ALL.

The really good new for me is that my husband is wanting to do it as well, minus the prescription, which will help me tremendously to stay on track.

......bueno, ya casi. Manana en la manana me voy a pesar y en la noche pongo la informacion aqui en el blog. Mi idea es pesarme una vez a la semana.

Para los que quieren saber como empezo todo esto, aqui les va.....el Jueves fui al doctor para mi examen anual y hable con el acerca de mi peso, le explique que yo he hecho todas las dietas que existen en planeta tierra y estoy harta de estar gorda (si, eso fue lo que dije, gorda), por mi promio bien voy a llamar las cosas como son, igual yo siempre digo lo que pienso, como decimos en mi pais "sin pelos en la lengua".

Mi doctor medio una receta medica para unas pastillas que me suprimen el apetito, yo nunca he tomado nada de pastillas o suplementos para bajar de peso, como dije anterior mente he hecho todas las dietas que existen pero nunca he tomado pastillas y eso como que me da un asusta un poquito, mas que todo por los efectos secundarios. El tambien me dijo que disminuyera como 300 calorias al dia y que cortara todas las azucares y los carbohidratos, oh! y NADA de comidas rapidas.

La mejor parte es que mi esposo tambien lo va a hacer, sin la medicina, pero eso me va a ayudar a mi a mantenerme en linea.

I decided to post this card to show you how with the same design (sketch) and just a few changes (measurements, color and stamps) you can achieve a completely different look, the idea is not to limit your self with what you see; just because I made the card as a Valentine Day card first it doesn’t mean it can be something else. This card was made using the same "sketch" as the "FEB 14 Tulips Card", which I made in January 2011, I just change it to be a "Birthday Card" instead.
With this approach, the possibilities are endless.

Decidi bajar esta parjeta para mostrarle como con el mismo diseno y solo cambiando unas cuantas cosas (medidas, colores y sellos) puede consiguir que la tarjeta se vea completamente differente, la idea es no limitarse con lo que esta viendo; aunque yo originalmente hice esta tarjeta para el dia de San Valentin eso no quiere decir que no puede ser para algo mas. Yo hice esta tarjeta con el mismo diseno de la Tarjeta “Tulipanes 14FEB”, que hice en Enero 2011, solo que la cambien para “Cumpleanos”.
De esta forma las posibilidades no tienen limite!.

Hi!

I know it's been awhile since my last post and I truly have NO excuse, nothing crazy happened, just LIFE!.

Between work, the house, my husband and daughter, the dogs and everything else, I have not taken the time to do anything craft related. But I have made a "mid-year" resolution to myself and now to you, I am going to post something at least once a month, ideally once a week, but I have to be realistic, this is one of those things like losing weight, you have to start small, if you try to change everything at once pretty soon you’ll get overwhelmed and quit everything, I think that’s what happened to me back in February, I did to much to fast!.

Here’s the story……in January I signed up for Weight Watchers and while trying to learn the program and get used to the measuring, going to meetings, shopping, etc., I also went "nuts" making projects and videos for Valentine's day and got myself PRETTY overwhelmed, let me tell ya!, the making of the videos is not easy and on top of that I did them both in English and Spanish, so you can only imagine, that's why I'm only going to “bite what I can chew” or better yet “cut what I can glue“, get it? (I know that was cheesee, LOL!!) Now talking about losing weight, that's another of my "mid-year" resolutions, I HAVE to, HAVE to, HAVE to lose some weight (a lot of weight), so I decided I was also going to share that with you (I hope you don't mind).

I want this blog to be a bit more personal, not just about cards or crafts but about life, about the happy moments and also the struggles I face, which I know some of you do too. My hope is that by sharing different aspect of my life with you, not only will you get to know me as a "stamper/crafter" but as a person, and maybe, just maybe I can teach you something you can teach me something and we can grow together.

Hola!

Se que tengo tiempo de no hacer tarjetas ni manualidades y NO tengo excusa, nada extraordinario ha pasado, mas que el diario vivir.

Entre mi trabajo, la casa, mi esposo y mi hija, los perros y todo lo demas, no he sacado el tiempo para hacerlo.

Sin embargo, hize una resolucion de medio-ano conmigo misma y ahora con usted, voy a bajar (Post) algo por lo menos una vez al mes, idealmente una vez a la semana, pero tengo que ser realista, para mi esto es como perder de peso, hay que hacerlo despacio y constantemente para no abrumarse, si uno trata de cambiarlo todo muy rapido pronto se ostina y lo deja todo tirado y creo que eso fue lo que me paso en Enero, trate de hacer mucho muy rapido y me abrume.

Lo que me paso es que en Enero me meti a “Weight Watchers” y cuando estaba tratando de aprender el programa y acostumbrarme a medir la comida, ir a las reuniones y comprar las cosas adecuadas tambien decidi hacer los projectos y videos de San Valentin y eso me abrumo, dejeme decirle que hacer los videos no es facil, y para hacer el enredo mas grande los hice en ingles y en espanol, asi que ya se puede imaginar!! Por eso he decido hacer las cosa en pequenos incrementos, en lugar de tratar de hacerlo todo al mismo tiempo.

Ahora hablando de bajar de peso, esa es otra de mis resoluciones de medio-ano, necesito bajar un poco de peso (no solo un poco, un MONTON), y me gustaria compartir eso con usted tambien (espero que no le importe!)

Quiero hacer este blog un poco mas personal, no solo de tarjetas y projectos pero mas bien de la vida, acerca de los momentos felices y tambien las dificultades que todos de una forma u otra pasamos, para que asi usted no solo me conozca como “alguien que hace manualidades” pero como una persona y a lo major yo le pueda ensenar algo, usted me pueda ensenar algo a mi y podamos crecer juntas (os).

Valentine Pops Holder/ Chupas de San Valentin

To make this project you will to need:
Lollipops (Valentine Pops)
Card Stock cut at 6 1/2 x 2 1/4 and score at 2 1/2 on both sides
Designer Series Paper, 1 cut at 2 x 2 1/4
One 1 3/4 scallop circle, one 1 3/8 circle and one 1 1/4 circle (this will the punched image)
Stamped image smaller than 1 1 /4 around
SNAIL Adhesive, Dimensionals and Glue Dots (On the video I used glue dots for the closure of the holder, however after a couple of days the glue dots didn't seem to hold as good so I stapled them on the top along the DSP, please let me know if you have any questions.)

To make this project you will need:

Test Tubes/Flower Tubes: #53 Tubes, mine are from a company called SYNDICATES SALES, INC., they don't sale to the public but if you go to their Website they have a Distributor Locator and you can enter your zip and the distance you are willing to travel from 25 to 250 miles (I don't know anyone crazy enough to travel 250 miles for flower tubes, but hey the option is there if you are that person, LOL!) and find a local place to purchase them at, here is the link: http://www.syndicatesales.com/distlocator.asp, I purchased mine for only 15 cents a piece
#8 Corks, I got those online from a company called WidgetCo and here is the link:http://www.widgetco.com/8-cork-stoppers-cork-plugs, I don't know if any of those 2 companies service outside the USA, sorry!
